What is Windows 10 Redstone 5?
Redstone 5 is just the codename for the next major update to Windows 10, so expect it to have a catchier name closer to release. The last was called April 2018 update, so perhaps Redstone 5 will get October update as its official name.
Microsoft is expected to roll-out the next Redstone 5 update to Windows 10 users around Spe/October 2018. Nothing official has been announced by Microsoft at the time of publishing. But this does follow the pattern for update releases that Microsoft has stuck to with the Fall Creators Update out on October 17th.

Windows Sets
This is the Best ever feature “Windows Sets” Microsoft Introduced on Windows 10 Redstone 5 build 17063 And maybe the Star Feature of the upcoming Windows 10 Feature update. Windows Sets” feature lets you organize apps, documents, and web pages into tabs, similar to how tabs work on a web browser. Sets introduce multi-tab support in applications on Windows 10. Different programs or instances of the same program may share a single window so that you may switch between them in the window, and change window states (e.g. minimize, close, or maximize).

Note 30/june/2018: With Windows 10 preview build 17704 As Microsoft Announced they’re taking the “Sets” feature back and it’ll be released to the Insiders again when it’s ready.
“Starting with this build, we’re taking Sets offline to continue making it great. Based on your feedback, some of the things we’re focusing on include improvements to the visual design and continuing to better integrate Office and Microsoft Edge into Sets to enhance workflow. If you have been testing Sets, you will no longer see it as of today’s build, however, Sets will return in a future WIP flight. Thanks again for your feedback,”
Cloud-Powered Clipboard
With Windows 10 build 17666 Microsoft Added the much-awaited cloud-powered clipboard feature ( was demoed during Build 2017 keynote). The new clipboard experience in Windows 10 is powered by Microsoft’s cloud technology which means that you can access your clipboard across any PC. This will be really helpful when you often paste the same content multiple times a day, or want to paste across devices.

Dark Theme for File Explorer
With Windows 10 Build 17666 Microsoft introduced dark theme to File Explorer to match the rest of Windows 10’s dark aesthetic. Previously when users enable the Dark mode in Windows 10, its effect was limited to preinstalled apps like Windows Store, Calendar, Mail, and other Universal Windows Platform applications. That means dark mode will have no effect on the File Explorer. But now with users running Windows 10 Insiders build 17666, enable the dark mode in Settings > Personalization > Colors. Dark Theme. This will be enabled in all support applications and interfaces, including in File Explorer.
Screen Capture Tool
This tool that already exists in Windows 10 will be improved with a modern experience that works much better for the user. Windows 10 Redstone 5 snipping toolbar can open by pressing the Windows key + Shift + S hotkey. You can select to capture free-form, rectangular or full-screen snapshots.
It will also include an application to edit the capture, add annotations with Windows Ink or text. In this way, Windows 10 will have a more powerful and integrated remodeling and screen capture tool.
Improved search previews
Windows 10 will bring a new search experience, which removes Cortana as the protagonist and puts a new user interface for the search. This new interface has search categories, a section to return to where you stayed from recent files and the classic search bar of the search.
The result of the search also has a new double-panel interface to facilitate the search of applications and documents. This is much wider because it allows you to see much more content and information on the screen.
Your Phone app
Microsoft’s new Your Phone app is another much-awaited feature, which is expected to come with the next update. The app will make it easier to share files using the phone. For instance, users will be allowed to just drag and drop files between devices. As of now, it is not clear if the new app will support both iOS and Android.
Better Fluent Design
Microsoft is committed to enhancing its design in Windows 10, specifically that Fluent Design which aims to make the user interface more effortless. That should mean a lot more apps have adopted the Fluent Design layout. Also expect to see more 3D effects for Mixed Reality.
