While using our computers, we all have experience two or three situations where our computer automatically shut down without giving any warning. The reason behind every forced shutdown is different, sometimes it is a problem with hardware and sometimes just software want to give trouble. It’s alright to experience automatic shutdown once in a while, but when it becomes the frequent case, then you need to consider the matter seriously. For desktop users If the fans stop working, the temperature will be higher than normal. So open the case and ensure the fans are running. If the fans are broken, you might need to replace it with a new one. Again Too much dust can cause computer overheating. So try to clean the computer especially the fans and the filter.
Check if RAM (Memory module) causing the issue
Most of the computers either stop working or just turn off randomly because of the RAM (random access memory) crashing problem. This problem generally occurs when your ram stops working or by the displacement of your ram. To resolve this problem, unplug your ram, clean it out (clean the RAM slot as well) and plug it again. Check if the problem is solved or not.

Press Windows + I keyboard shortcut to open the settings app,
Click on Update & security then Windows update
Hit the check for updates button, let the windows updates download from the Microsoft server (if available)

Right-click Start and open Power Options.
In Power Options settings window click on Additional power settings
Then Choose what the powers buttons do option in the left panel.
Click Change settings that are currently unavailable options.
Under Shut down settings, remove the tick from Turn on fast startup (recommended).
Click OK to save the changes.
Adjust Power Settings
Windows 10 has been facing lots of problems related to the power setting. So, it is good if you adjust some settings in the power department to make your automatic shutdown problem go away forever. You can change a few things in advanced power settings like change the value from 100 to 0 in ‘Minimum processor state and reduce the value until it shows Never. It goes both for ‘plugged in’ and ‘on battery’ for laptops.
Open control panel, search for and select power options,
Select your default power plan and click Change plan settings option.
Open Change advanced power settings.
Go to Processor power management.
You should see that the Minimum processor state is set to 100. Change it to 0.
Go to the Hard Disk and find Turn off hard disk after. Decrease the value until you see Never.
Save the changes and close Settings.
Evaluate Drivers
The very next thing that you should do is check your drivers. In the earlier versions of Windows, they often caused BSODs to result in a shutdown. So, you should check your GPU drivers foremost. Most of the generic drivers that received through the Windows Update, but this is not the case for GPU drivers. If you are using dual GPU with the Intel integration and AMD graphic card, then make sure to update both. Next, you can look to update SSD firmware.
Right-click Start and select Device Manager.
Expand Display adapters right-click on your GPU Choose update driver
Also, you can Uninstall the current GPU driver

Then access the official driver provider’s website and install the latest version of the driver.
Once you finish the installation, restart your computer.
Check if Faulty HDD causing the issue
Another thing worth checking is your HDD. If your HDD is corrupted or it has damaged sectors, you’ll probably encounter a large variety of problems.
Open Command prompt as administrator,
In the command line type wmic diskdrive get status and press Enter to confirm.
You’ll know your hard disk is healthy when prompted with ‘OK’ for every partition.
On the other hand, if you are seeing ‘Unknown’, ‘Caution’, or ‘Bad’, your hard disk have some issues.
Run a Clean Test
Lastly, the best option that you have to protect your PC from shutting down would be running a clean test. However, if the hardware is the main culprit, then this solution will not work. To thoroughly clean your system, you should first backup all your files over the cloud storage or you can backup on spare DVDs. Once you are fully sure that all your important software and files are backed up, then you can run the process of cleaning your system.
