Windows 10 1903 now automatically remove buggy updates !

Windows 10 Updates are set to download and install automatically. That means whenever new updates available compatible devices connected to Microsoft server download and install these updates automatically via windows update. But most of the time users report the latest updates causing different problems, Windows won’t start or not perform well etc.

And now on Windows official documents, Microsoft says that Windows 10 will now automatically remove the problematic updates when it detects incompatibility issues that lead to startup failures.

If Windows detects that your machine cannot start up successfully, it will try to diagnose and resolve failures due to disk issues, system file corruption, invalid registry keys, or other such causes. If all these steps are unsuccessful and your machine is still unable to start up properly, Windows will determine if the startup issue was introduced after recent driver or quality updates were installed. If so, these updates may be uninstalled automatically to get the device back to a workable state. This is only done as a last resort. (Via Windows Support)

If a Windows 10 machine experiences a startup failure after installing certain updates, and the automatic repair mechanism can’t recover your system, Then Windows 10 1903 fix this problem by uninstalling the problematic update automatically. And the device will display the notification: “We removed some recently installed updates to recover your device from a startup failure.”

Buggy updates now remove automatically

In addition, Windows 10 will also block the problematic update from installing again automatically for the next 30 days, which should be enough time until the next patch releases with a fix for the issue. here Microsoft explained:

To ensure that your device can start up and continue running as expected, Windows will also prevent problematic updates from installing automatically for the next 30 days. This will give Microsoft and our partners the opportunity to investigate the failure and fix any issues. After 30 days, Windows will again try to install the updates.  However, you can always manually install any quality updates that Windows uninstalls via Microsoft’s Update Catalog.

Note: This new feature is only available for Windows Insiders running Windows 10 Insider Preview, build 18351 or later. This version of Windows 10 has not yet been released publicly.
