First of all, Restart your PC and then reopen Microsoft Edge.

Check for and install the latest Windows Update to help correct problems by replacing outdated files, updating drivers, and fixing vulnerabilities.

To install the latest Windows updates:

  1. Select the Start button then settings,

  2. Click Update & security than Windows Update,

  3. Now select Check for updates to allow download and install windows update files from the Microsoft server.

  4. If Windows Update says your PC is current, you have all the current updates.

To perform a clean boot

  1. Press Windows + R, type MSConfig and ok

  2. Move to the Services tab, check the box for Hiding all Microsoft services.

  4. Go to the Startup tab and click Open Task Manager.

  5. Select each item on the list and click Disable.

  6. Close your Task Manager and restart your computer.

Clear all browsing data

Edge browser automatically saves temporary Internet files to help pages load faster. Clearing this cache will sometimes fix page display problems.

  1. If you can open Microsoft Edge, Click Hub (…) present on the top right corner and select settings,

  2. Click Privacy & security then choose what to clear

  3. Select all the boxes, and then select the Clear button.

Disable edge extensions

  1. Open Edge Browser,

  2. Click on the three dots icon and select Extensions.

  3. Select installed extensions and Turn off them one by one.

  4. After that close and reopen Edge Browser

  5. check Edge browser running smoothly if yes there may be an extension causing the problem.

Reset Edge browser

  1. Press Windows + X then select settings,

  2. Next, under the Apps and features section, search for Microsoft Edge.

  3. Now click on the Advanced options link to open the following window.

Note: Repairing the browser won’t affect anything, but resetting will remove your history, cookies, and any settings you might have changed.

Reinstall Edge browser

Still, Microsoft edge, not loading pages, stops responding? Apply the following steps to completely reinstall the Microsoft Edge browser.

  1. Press Windows Key + R, type %localappdata%\Packages, and press Enter.

  2. Navigate to the folder “Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe“.

  3. Right-click it select Properties, and then uncheck the Read-only option.

  4. Now again right-click and delete the folder “Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe

  5. Restart windows.

  1. Now open PowerShell (admin) using windows + x key

  2. Type following command and press enter key to execute the same

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml” -Verbose}.

Reboot the PC. Now you can launch the Microsoft Edge browser. It is working properly.

Run DISM and SFC utility

Try to run the DISM command with System File Checker (SFC) scan to check for any file corruption. SFC scan will scan for corrupt system files on the computer and repair them.

  1. Search for command prompt, right-click and select run as administrator,

  2. In the Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

  3. DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth.

  4. sfc /scannow

3. After that restart windows and check edge the browser working properly or not.

Check with a different user account

Also You may check the same issue with the new user account. Try these steps to create a new user account and check if it fixes the issue.

Refer to the steps below to create a new User Account:

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Choose Accounts and then select Family & Other User Accounts towards the left.

  3. Click add someone else to this PC

  4. A new popup opens with the option to add a user with a Microsoft account, Enter the email address of the person and follow on-screen instructions.

  5. Also, you can click “I don’t have this person’s sign-in information” to create a Microsoft account you can choose a user name and follow on-screen instructions to create a Microsoft account.

  6. Or you can click Add a user without a Microsoft account to create a local user account on your PC.

  2. Click on Finish.

  3. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.

  4. Check if the issue persists.
