Microsoft edge not working after Windows 10 2021 update? Try these solutions

Microsoft Edge not working Windows 10
There are several causes that might have caused this issue “Microsoft edge not working” such as corrupt system files, outdated or incompatible drivers, corrupted Windows updates, etc. If you are also having problems with the edge browser, you can try the solutions below.
Install Latest Windows Updates
Microsoft regularly releases cumulative updates with the latest bug fixes. Before applying any other solutions we recommend to check and make sure the latest Windows updates installed on your system.
Press Windows + I keyboard shortcut to open the settings app,
Click on Update & security than Windows update,
Hit check for updates button to allow download update files from the Microsoft server.
Once updates download and installed restart your PC to apply them
Now open edge browser and check if this working normally.
Delete Cached Files and Browsing History
Since you experience Microsoft edge not working properly, browser crashes, there might be chances that your browser history is corrupted or due to more cache files, you may face the same problem so try to Delete Cached Files and Browsing History it really helps to fix this Here’s how to do it.
Open Edge Browser Select the “…” icon; it is located in the top right corner.
Then, scroll down and choose Settings, then click privacy & security
Choose what to clear below Clear browsing data,
Checkmark what things you want to clear followed by cached data and files and clear.
After this Close Microsoft Edge, restart your PC,
Now relaunch Microsoft Edge to see if the trick worked.

Tweak Home Page to open a Blank page
Normally when we open the Edge browser you may notice it’s by default load the MSN page. with lots of heavy images, and web pages which may take time to load as a result the Browser became slow. We recommend to Tweak Homepage and Set the Browser to Open a Blank Page.
Start Edge browser and click More (. . .) button and click Settings.
Here Inside the Settings pane, select general,
Scroll down, under customize click the drop-down of Open Microsoft Edge with and choose the New tab page.
And click the drop-down corresponding to the setting Open new tabs with select the option A blank page As Shown Bellow image.
That’s all Close and restart the Edge browser and it will start with a blank page.

Turn off Or uninstall an Edge extension
Again if you have installed a number of extensions on the Edge browser, We recommend Disable / Uninstall All of them to make sure any of the edge extensions not causing the issue.
To disable or uninstall edge browser extensions follow the steps below.
Click on the three dots icon (…) located just below the close button and then click Extensions.
Here you will find All installed Edge Extension.
Click on the name of an extension to see its settings,
Click the Toggle off the option to turn off the extension.
Do the same with other extensions, then Restart Edge Browser Check loading smoothly.
If not try to uninstall the extension To completely Remove the Extension.

Reset the Edge browser To default Setup
If the above solutions didn’t fix the problem still edge browser crashes or running slow, let’s reset the edge browser to its default settings. To do this follow steps below.
First, close the Microsoft edge Browser (If it’s running)
Press keyboard shortcut, Windows + x to open the settings app,
Now Navigate to Appsthen Apps & features,
On the right-hand side scroll down and locate Microsoft Edge
you will see the Advanced options link, Click On it.

A new window will open, Here Click the Repair button to repair the Edge browser.
Now Restart windows and open Edge browser check running smoothly? If not Then use the Reset Edge Browser option which reset Edge browser its default settings and makes the Edge browser fast again.
Note: Resetting the browser will delete browsing history, saved passwords, favorites, and other data saved in the browser. So, backup these data first before proceeding to the reset job.

Run the SFC scan
As discussed before corrupted system files also cause Windows 10 apps not to perform properly. Run the Microsoft Windows Resource Checker tool, also know as “System File Checker” or “sfc”. This tool scans and verifies the integrity of all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct versions.
Open the command prompt as administrator,
In the Command Prompt, type the following command, sfc /scannow and then press Enter.
Wait until the process completes. This usually doesn’t take longer than 20 minutes with a regular hard disk and takes much shorter when you have a fast SSD drive.
Restart Windows Once the process 100% completes
Check to see if the issue is resolved.

Reinstall Microsoft edge
If you’re running Microsoft Edge, close it.
Open File Explorer move to view tab and checkmark on hidden items,
Now navigate to the following path C:\Users[UseYourUsername]\AppData\Local\Packages and hit Enter.
(Remember to replace “UseYourUsername” with your user account name.)
Select Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe folder right-clicks on it and select Properties.
Remove the check from the Read-only option, and click Apply and OK.

Now again right-click on Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe folder and try to delete the same.
Note:
If you get a “Folder Access Denied” prompt, simply click Continue.
If the computer refuses to delete some content in the folder then skip it.
Re-register Microsoft edge
Now we’re going to re-register Microsoft Edge in your account.
Press Windows + x keyboard shortcut to open power menu
Select Windows PowerShell (admin),
This will open Windows PowerShell with administrative rights,
Copy-paste the command below to PowerShell windows and press enter key to reinstall the edge browser on windows 10.
Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)AppXManifest.xml” -Verbose}
Once the command is executed successfully, restart the computer and try launching the Microsoft Edge app. It will run without any issues.

Create A New User Account and check
Sometimes creating a new user account can fix this problem. So try to create a new user account and open Edge Browser check you may not face any issue.
To create a new user account on Windows 10
Open the command prompt as an administrative privilege then type the command below
net user [username] [password] /add and press enter key. Example : net user windows101tricks P@$$word / add
When the command executes you will get a message the command completed successfully.
Now exit command prompt logoff from current user login and login to newly created user account.
Start Edge Web Browser and check it worked for you or not.
